Inspire

Theme & Announcements

Hey, it’s time for the seventh Music Monday! This time, I’m trying something different. Up until now, I’ve used a link up widget, but honestly, most of the people linking up actually don’t use it. So instead, if you link up, leave a comment on this post with a link to your own so that everyone else can find it! And don’t forget to share your thoughts on everyone else’s playlists, too!

Anyway, the new theme is “inspire”. It can be songs that pump you up (in case you missed the time we did Pump Up playlists), songs that make you want to actually try and finish that homework sitting in front of you, whatever you want, as long as it has something to do with inspiration!

Rules

  1. This is a bi-weekly feature. New themes will be posted every other Monday. You can post your own playlist any time in between the day the theme is posted and the day the next theme goes up (it doesn’t need to be a Monday).
  2. I make an album cover-y graphic for each playlist. You’re welcome to use mine or make your own, whichever you prefer.
  3. If you want, you can post your playlist on Spotify, 8tracks, YouTube, or whatever else works for you, and link to that from your blog.
  4. You may use whatever music you want, but if it contains explicit language, please mention that in your post!
  5. This isn’t really required, meaning I won’t kick you out or anything if you don’t do it, but try to listen to and comment on a couple of other people’s playlists as well. The intention of this is to encourage the sharing of people’s favorite music!
  6. Have fun!

My Playlist

Songs that make you ready to go out and change the world – and yourself in the process. Upbeat, “changing the world” tracks interspersed with a couple of darker, more introspective (but still inspiring) ones.

BattleSongs

Theme

The moment you’ve all been waiting for- Music Monday number four! I’m actually really looking forward to this one. The theme? Battle anthems. Songs that pump you up, make you feel like you can do anything. If you were a superhero (or villain- no judging here), these would be your theme songs. Of course, if you want to take your own spin on the topic, go ahead! As long as it fits under the theme “battle anthems”, anything goes. And have fun!

Theme

So, welcome to the first Music Monday! This week’s theme, Girl Power, is one that I’ve actually wanted to make a post on for a while. Share some songs you like with particularly feminist lyrics, or just some of your favorite female singers! It’s up to you, as long as you stay somewhat within the topic. And, of course, have fun!

Rules

  1. This will probably be a bi-weekly feature- I’m going to try this as a link-up this month, and if it works, we’ll keep it. If not, it may become weekly or monthly.

Announcing a New-ish Blog Feature!

Last month, I decided to try doing a new blog feature- a weekly playlist post. It was a lot of fun, and actually pretty popular, too. I got a lot of comments with people sharing their own favorite songs, and that’s exactly what I was going for!

Then, Chloe from Free as a Girl With Wings had a really awesome idea- I could turn the playlists into a blog link up! I think it would be a lot of fun and encourage just what I had intended- people sharing and discussing their favorite music.

Rules:

  1. This will probably be a bi-weekly feature- I’m going to try this as a link-up this month, and if it works, we’ll keep it. If not, it may become weekly or monthly.
  2. Assuming that it stays as a bi-weekly feature, the theme and my own playlist will be posted every other Monday, starting tomorrow.
  3. I make an album cover-y graphic for each playlist. You’re welcome to use mine or make your own, whichever you prefer.
  4. If you want, you can post your playlist on Spotify, 8tracks, YouTube, or whatever else works for you, and link to that from your blog.
  5. You may use whatever music you want, but if it contains explicit language, please mention that in your post!
  6. This isn’t really required, meaning I won’t kick you out or anything if you don’t do it, but try to listen to and comment on a couple of other people’s playlists as well. The intention of this is to encourage the sharing of people’s favorite music!
  7. Have fun!

The theme for the first link up will be posted tomorrow!

Playlist: Love Songs

For this week’s playlist, I decided to do some of my favorite love songs! I’m actually not usually really into songs about love- less because of the subject matter and more about how superficial they usually feel. “You’re beautiful and let’s live happily ever after.” Not that there’s anything wrong with those kinds of songs- they’re just not usually what I’m into. But there are some love songs that I really do like, and here they are! (And remember, feedback is very welcome!)

  1. Still Into You by Paramore
  2. When the Day Met the Night by Panic! at the Disco
  3. She’s the Prettiest Girl at the Party, and She Can Prove it With a Solid Right Hook by frkniero andthe cellabration
  4. Cinderblock Garden by All Time Low

  11. Only Love by PVRIS

  13. The World is Ugly by My Chemical Romance

Are there any songs you would add to this list? And remember to let me know what you think of these playlists!

Playlist: Feel Better

So, I’ve decided to try doing playlists as a weekly feature. I’m going to try it out this month, and if you guys like it, I’ll keep doing it. Let me know if you like it, or if you want to see more or less! Any feedback would be really helpful. I’ll be posting the playlists on YouTube for now.

This week, I decided to do a feel good kind of playlist- music that cheers me up and makes me feel like dancing, even when I’m sad or angry. Basically, sad songs that sound happy. Enjoy!

Show Me a Hero Playlist

It’s been awhile since I worked on my novel WIP, Show Me a Hero, so in an effort to get back into the groove and start working on it again (or at least thinking about it…) I decided to work on a playlist for it.
